Wake up and Focus – Why and how we developed this signature fragrance
0Wake Up and Focus has been one of our most successful blends to date as part of our signature fragrance range.
We chose to create new aromatic blends so that people have different experiences and are able to create new associations with aroma and memory. All essential oils have their unique aroma and we decided to combine similar scents to generate an entirely now aroma without compromising essential oil quality nor therapeutic benefit.
The whole is more than the sum of its parts
“The whole is more than the sum of its parts” is the principle by which all our signature fragrances have been developed. Not only is a new aroma developed by combining these oils together, but the properties and actions are enhanced with a therapeutic benefit of the resultant blend.
Why we developed this fragrance
In 2002, our youngest son Daniel was in Matric and was struggling to stay focused on his studying. Being in the aromatherapy field with a small range of products already developed, I mixed up a blend of oils for him to inhale when he was feeling unfocused and distracted. He loved the aroma and it was then that we decided to create the Focusniff inhaler for him to use as a more personal inhaling method when he was actually writing his exams. The room spray, burner essence and liquid soaps with the same blend of oils were developed soon thereafter.
What puts the “Vooma” into Wake Up & Focus?
Rosemary, peppermint and lemon are known to be brain stimulants. They help with memory as well as for concentration and alertness. Geranium is an excellent balancer and has a regulating effect on body and mind.
The four oils together have the therapeutic effect of alertness, focus and concentration enhancement. The mix has a sharp yet sweet, clean aroma and is enjoyed by those who are studying, driving or working.
Applications of Wake Up & Focus
Wake up and Focus concentrated oil can be used in a traditional burner or a Scentstation, or dropped on cotton wool and placed in a strategic place. It has the added benefit of appealing to most people, giving a pleasant fragrance to those within its aroma range. It can be used as a room spray or as an inhaler (Focusniff) where only the user can smell it.
Tip – use Wake up and Focus early in the evening so as not to be overstimulated before sleep time, however if you are studying well into the night or driving late and need to stay alert, then simply use sedating oils when it is time to go to sleep. (see stressniff and our Silent Moments range)
